For the past thirty years I have made a living by
writing
and
now
I keep asking myself
have I done enough writing?
Is this enough
are all those words enough?
The answer is always
no

Well written, and I think I understand how you feel (even occasional scribblers like me can feel it). You have written well many times, and it would be a shame if you hadn’t done that, but it’s never enough. To misquote another writer: let your regrets be the whetstone for your pen/keyboard. Keep writing, though it can never feel ‘enough’. To reiterate an old Maoist slogan – if you don’t fight, you lose.
